QUALIFYING ROUND RECAP (VIDEO's BELOW)
OVERALL: I hit the ball extremely well. I started on the back 9. It is a much more difficult hole than #1. I split every fairway and hit every green on my first nine holes. Had 3 nice birdies and the rest were pars. I could easily have been 5 under.
I made the turn and had 3 bogies that put me back to even. I knew with 4 holes left I needed to get to at least 1 under par.
My last 4 holes, I hit great drives and all 4 approach shots were about 12-18ft away, but couldn't get a putt to drop. I will be increasing my putting practice time! Was disappointing to miss the cut by 1, but I hit the ball much better than my score showed. 15 putts on my front side, 18 putts on the back side. My approach shot proximity average for my first nine was 17ft, but on the back it was 28ft.
HERE IS MY HOLE BY HOLE RECAP
HOLE 10:
Hole 10 is a downhill par 4, slight dogleg right, 402 yard hole. After 255yds off the tee, it is a severe downslope to a creek.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
This is a very difficult hole to start on, my strategy was to make par. Because it was so downhill and not knowing how firm the fairways were playing, I hit a 4iron to about 185 out (the fairways were not rolling, it was very muddy).
I then hit a 6iron directly at the flag off a downhill lie to about 19 feet. I missed the putt by a half inch for an easy tap in par. Most of the greens slope back towards the fairway, so keeping my ball on the short side of the flag (below the hole) would give me easier uphill putts.
HOLE 11:
Hole 10 is a downhill par 4, dogleg left, 433 yard hole. Again, there is a creek at the end of the fairway.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
There was no need to hit my driver because if I didnt turn it, I would go through the fairway and be in the dense woods, so I chose to hit a 3 wood stinger draw. I hit it perfectly and ended up in the middle of the fairway about 135 yards out from the green. I hit a PW to about 4ft right of the flag and made birdie.
HOLE 12:
Hole 12 is a flat straightaway 581 par 5. There is trouble just 10 yards left of the green, a hill that feeds down into a creek.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
With the fairways so wet, I hit a high driver about 312 yards down the middle. I then had 269 yards to the green. I hit a 3 wood that landed about 12 ft. past the flag that barely rolled off the back of the green. I then had a 15 yard putt from the collar. I thought the wet collar would slow it down and the green sloped severely away from me to the hole. It ran about 18ft past the hole and I two putted for a par. Very disappointing after two great shots.
HOLE 13:
Hole 13 is a 194 yard par 3. the green is guarded by traps short and right and a severe slope over the back of the green. The pin was about 7 yards from the back edge.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
I didnt want to go long with the back pin, so I hit a 6 iron that hit the middle of the green and it bounced a little forward. My ball rolled to about 4 feet right of the flag. I made the putt for Birdie to go 1 under par for the day.
HOLE 14:
Hole 14 is a 380 yard dogleg left hole with the tee shot over water. there is a tree to the left of the fairway and a bunker on the right. A pull leaves you under the tree and a push over the trap goes into knee high grass.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
From the practice round, I have a very good aiming point. I hit my driver about 308 yards right on my line and put me in the middle of the fairway about 90 yards out. I hit my 54 degree wedge, it landed about a yard from the hole, but kicked forward and released about 19 feet past the hole. Below is a video of my missed putt.
HOLE 15:
Hole 15 is a 423 yard dogleg right hole. There are 4 bunkers on the left side and high grass on the right side
HOW I PLAYED IT:
i just played a little cut off the last bunker. I ended up right where i wanted, and had around 110 left, that's a 10:00 feel 54 degree. I caught it low in the face, and it ended up 20 long of the flag. I 2 putted for par.
HOLE 16:
Hole 15 is a 425yard hole with water carry off the tee and water all along the left of the fairway. There are a couple well placed bunkers, one short right and the other protecting going through the fairway.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
i hit a 3W at the second bunker and I ended up right where i wanted, and had around 143 to the flag. I hit a PW to 12ft right of the pin. I barely missed the putt.
HOLE 17:
Hole 17 is a 173 yard downhill par 3. The wind was picking up and blowing left to right.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
I hit my stock 7 iron (slight draw) aiming a flagstick right, but I underestimated the wind and it pushed my tee shot pin high to the right side of the green. I two putted from 55 feet.
HOLE 18:
Hole 18 is a 537 yard uphill slight dogleg left hole with the tee shot over water.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
The wind was still left to right, I hit a good drive and hit my 2nd shot pin high, but it plugged in the left bunker on a severe upslope. I hit a great sand shot to about 3 feet and made the putt for birdy to shoot 33 on my first nine.
STARTING MY BACK 9 ON HOLE 1:
Hole 1 is a short 387 yard hole.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
After 9 holes, I missed my first fairway and green. Push faded my 3 wood into the right rough. I had a terrible lie and left my approach shot about 4 yards short of the green. I got up and down to make par.

HOLE 2:
Hole 2 is a straightaway 586 yard par 5 with o.b. close on the right (the right side of fairway slopes towards it, and o.b. on the left.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
The wind was really starting to blow hard. This hole was playing directly into it. I hit a perfect driver stinger and it rolled out to about 308 yards. That left me 287 to the flag. I thought I hit a good 3W second shot, but the wind was in my face and really starting to kick up. it was 42 yards short. A poor pitch shot short of the green and a chip shot & 2 putt sealed my first bogey.

HOLE 3:
Hole 3 is a long par 3, 210 yards.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
The hole was playing downwind, a little off my left shoulder. I hit a 6 iron that started a little right and got pushed to the edge of the green. I had a wicked mound in the green that made it hard to find a good landing spot. It rolled out a bit far and I missed the putt for my second bogey.

HOLE 4:
Hole 4 is a short 375 yard dogleg left hole.
HOW I PLAYED IT:
In the practice round I went for the green. Caught a tree and chipped on from the woods and 1 putted. I was worried with the wind helping, that if my drive went over the green I would be dead. I laid up and hit a PW on. Unfortunately, I misjudged how much downhill and fast the put would be and put it past the hole, missed the putt back for my 3rd and last bogey of the day.
